Our backpacking trip: Dia 120 / Day 120

En la mañana estuvimos en Fiesola, un pueblo cerca a Florencia. Fiesole queda en una montaña de donde hay una vista espectacular de Florencia. Fuimos a 15 Via Giuseppe Verdi a visitar el balconcito donde vivieron los tios Tati y Jose, que vista desde ese lugar… miren las fotos! Luego estuvimos visitando el monaterio y la Catedral.

Regresamos a Florencia y estuvimos visitando mas lugares. Estuvimos en la Fortaleza da Basso (se puede ver solamente desde afuera, fue convertida en un centro de convenciones), la Basilica de Santa Maria Novella, caminamos por el rio Arno, fuimos a Ponte Vecchio (Puente Viejo) y al Palacio Pitti.

La comida fue la famosa bisteca Fiorentina, es un corte de res con hueso inlcuido que se hace asada; es un plato tipico de Florencia.

In the morning we went to Fiesole, a small town close to Florence. It is located in a mountain where we had a magnificent view of Florence. In Fiesole we went to 15 Via Giuseppe Verdi where Marcela’s aunt used to live, what a view from that site… just look at the pictures! We then visited the monastery and the Cathedral.

We got back to Florence and went to see more places. We visited the Fortezza da Basso (can only be seen from outside, it has been converted into a convention centre), Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, walked around river Arno, went to Ponte Vecchio (old bridge) and Pitti Palace.

For dinner we had the famous bisteca Fiorentina, a huge grilled T-bone stake; this is a very tipical dish in Florence.
