Julio 29 - 31 / July 29 - 31

On July 29 we went to visit some caves around the Da Nang area.  We visited the Am Phu Cave, Marble Mountains and Huyen Khong Cave.  We then headed to Monkey Mountain to see the monkeys but could not find them.  We then went to the Chua Ling Ung Buddhist Temple where there is a huge Buddha sculpture… look at the picture!

The tour dropped us off in Da Nang where we will be spending the next couple of days.
In the evening we went to the Dragon Bridge, hundreds of people gather every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00pm to see the dragon spiting fire and water… look at the pictures!

July 30 was a relaxing day by the beach.  We got to the beach at 10:30am and there was nobody, we rented beach beds and lay there until the early evening.  The beach was only for us until 4:30pm when lots of buses arrived with people and the place got really crowded.  It was a nice people watching activity when everybody arrived.

At night we went again to the Dragon Bridge!

On July 31 we went to the Museum of Cham Sculpture where we learned a bit more about the Cham Dynasty.  We then walked to the local market where we were harassed by lots of sales women.  I needed to buy a pair of flip-flops and it was a battle with some of them.

At 3:30pm we flew to Ho-Chi Minh City.

Julio 27 - 28 / July 27 - 28

We keep heading southwe will be visiting Hoi An.  We took a bus at 8:30am and around 10:00am we were driving through a tunnel when we heard a loud explosion but the driver did not seem to care too much.  When we finished crossing the tunnel we stopped and we had a blown tire.  We were very close to a small town so we stopped and they got the spare tire installed.  We arrived in Hoi An at 12:00pm, got to the guesthouse, checked-in and went for a walk.

We walked around the old city and visited some of the old house, the Chinese bridge, etc.  In the evening the city gains its character, the lanterns get light up and the different colours bring a different touch to the streets.

On June 28 we took a half a day tour to My Son to visit the ancient Hindu temples built by the Kings of Champa between the 4th and 14th centuries.  This area gets compared to Angkor Wat, but in all honestly it is very far from it.  In the afternoon we visited more places in the city and attended a cultural performance of singing and dancing.

In the evening we went back to the travel agency we booked the tour to My Son to get another tour for tomorrow.  We met the ladys daughter and played with her for a while.  She is adorable to say the least!
