Dia 113 / Day 113 - October 23/2012

We left in the morning for Pisa.  The train ride is only over 2 hours but it goes through lots of towns and beautiful mountains.

We arrived in Pisa and went to the hostel, left the luggage and went for a walk.  The hostel is only a couple of blocks away from the leaning tower of Pisa.  The Hostel Pisa Tower B&B is a very unique place; it is in an old house build in 1930’s and has only a few bedrooms.  The hostel is owned by two brothers, Fabio and Valerio, who keep it more like a home than hostel.  The decoration is quite something, everything is in bright colours, everything is very clean and organized.  Everything has a place and everything is in its place.  Highly recommended if you are coming to Pisa.

We went for a walk around Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of the Miracles), where the leaning tower of Pisa is located.  The square is very nice, the tower is quite impressive, the cathedral is beautiful and the whole area is very well kept.  We climbed almost 300 steps to the top, the view was amazing.

In the afternoon we went for a walk around downtown.  We saw many different places and had dinner in a very unique restaurant called “Numero 11”; it is a self service restaurant where the food was amazing.
