Our backpacking trip: Dia 246 / Day 246

A las 4:30am el acomodador nos levanto porque ya ibamos a llegar a Palolem. Nos bajamos del bus en la mitad de la nada y cogimos un Tuk Tuk para que nos llevara a un lugar que Jean Pierre nos sugirio. Llegamos alla y la unica persona que encontramos fue el celador y cuando nos dijo el precio por noche le dijimos que no podiamos pagar tanta plata. Nos fuimos para la playa a esperar que amaneciera para buscar un lugar donde dormir. Nos acomodamos en la playa y dormimos hasta que amanecio… el amanecer estuvo muy bonito!

A eso de las 6:30am un señor vino y nos ofecio hospedaje. Me dijo que fuera con el a mirar lo que ofrecia. El señor me mostro dos piezas, una era para 3 personas y mas costosa, la segunda era para 2 personas y mucho mas barata… escogimos la barata.

En la tarde salimos a caminar por la playa y conocimos a “little lamb”… un pescador que en la epoca de turismo lleva gente en su lancha a una playa cercana, a ver delfines, etc. Nos ofrecio que nos llevaba a la playa butterfly y a ver delfines… garantizado! Negociamos el precio y nos fuimos. Empezamos buscando delfines, los cuales encontramos despues de mucho buscarlos, y los vimos cerca de la canoa. Despues estuvimos en la playa butterfly donde nos metimos al mar un rato. En el regreso y por ninguna razon que nosotros podamos entender, el pescador empezo a cantar y lo unico que pudimos entender fue “little lamb”, por eso le pusimos ese apodo.

At 4:30am the guy woke us up to tell us that we were arriving in Palolem. We got off the bus in the middle of nowhere and got a Tuk Tuk to a place that Jean Pierre had suggested. We arrived there and there was only the security guard and he told us the price of this place but we could not afford it, so we went to the beach to wait until sunrise to find affordable accommodation. We put our backpacks on the beach and slept there until sunrise… it was a beautiful sunrise, well worth it!

At around 6:30am an old man came to us and offered us accommodation. He told me to follow him and he will show me. He showed me two cabins, one was bigger than the other one and more expensive… we choose the small one and cheaper option and settle there for the next few days.

In the afternoon we went for a walk on the beach and we met “little lamb”… a fisherman that in the tourist season takes people around in his fishing boat to a near by beach, dolphin watching, etc. He offered us to take us to butterfly beach and dolphin watching… guarantee! We negotiated the price and off we went. We started by looking for dolphins, which we saw a few of them very close to the boat. We then stopped at butterfly beach and went for a swim. On the way back and for no apparent reason he started singing and the only words we could recognize were “little lamb” so this is the reason why we call him “little lamb”.
