Se llego la hora de vender
el “ Elefante Negro” quien nos ha llevado por 13,768Km alreadedor de
Australia. Pusimos anuncios en
Facebook y Gumtree, una pagina Australiana. Mucha gente nos contacto pero Michael, un britanico, esta
muy interesado y nos pidio que le dieramos prioridad para ver el carro.
El 11 de Marzo llevamos al
“Elefante Negro” a hacerle la inspeccion tecnomecanica… pero desafortunadamente
necesita llantas delanteras asi que no podemos tener el certificado hasta el
Martes porque el Lunes es festivo.
El mismo Sabado en la tarde encontramos un lugar donde le cambiaron las
llantas.
El Sabado en la tarde le
mostramos el carro a Michael y decidio que lo compraba pero que esperaba hasta
el Martes que obuvieramos el certificado.
Nos estamos quedando donde
Oscar, un amigo colombiano. El
Domingo estuvimos limpiando el carro y seleccinando la ropa que nos vamos a
llevar… de ahora en adelante solo podemos llevar lo que quepa en las mochilas y
lo que podamos cargar al hombro.
El Lunes estuvimos en un
desfile llamado Moomba. En la
tarde nos encontramos con Oscar, su novia, la mama y los niños en la playa.
El Martes 14 de Marzo nos
encontramos con Michael y le entregamos las llaves. Fue un poco triste ver ir al “Elefante Negro” con otro dueño
(pero ni cinco de parecido a lo que sentimos cuando vendimos a Lucy) pero fue
un descanso que se vendio rapido y asi podemos continuar nuestro viaje por el
Sudeste Asiatico.
Los dias que siguieron
estuvimos conociendo Melbourne.
Muchas gracias a Oscar y su
familia que nos acogieron en su casa y nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos en
Melbourne.

It is time to sell our
beloved “Black Elephant” who has taken us around Australia for 13,768Kms. We advertised it on Facebook as well as
in Gumtree. Several people
contacted us but Michael from England is very interested and had asked us to
give him first priority to look at the car.
On March 11 we took “Black
Elephant” for road worthiness inspection… unfortunately he needed front tires
so we cannot get the certificate until Tuesday as Monday is a holiday. We replaced the tires on Saturday
afternoon.
We showed the car to Michael
on Saturday afternoon and he agreed to purchase it but had to wait until we got
the roadworthiness certificate on Tuesday morning.
We are staying with Oscar, a
Colombian friend. We spent all
Sunday cleaning the car and selecting our clothes… from now on we can only take
as much clothes as we can fit in a backpack and what we can carry on our backs.
On Monday we went to Moomba
Parade, a parade where dance groups from Melbourne perform on the street. In the afternoon we met with
Oscar, his girlfriend, mom and kids by the beach.
On Tuesday March 14 we met
with Michael and handed over the car keys. It was sad to see “Black Elephant” go (not even close to the
sadness when we sold Lucy) but a relief that we sold it so quickly so we can
continue our trip to South East Asia.
The net few days we spent
them sightseeing in Melbourne.

Cuando pequeña juagábamos un juego que se llama "viajeros y piratas" me encantaba que mi ficha cayera en Melbourne....no se porque, pero ahora que veo las fotos ya se que es una hermosa ciudad. Recorrieron 13.768 KM???? por todo Australia?? que maravilla, ese país les quedo chuleado!!! y también para Oscar mis agradecimientos por haberles ayudado en ese inolvidable recorrido.
