Dia 324 / Day 324 - May 22/2013

Today we are going from Sihanoukville to Bangkok.  We bought a bus ticket that leaves at 8:00am and will be arriving at 7:00pm… we think we are making the connection for Koh Tao.  Unfortunately we arrived in Bangkok at 10:45pm; we are now getting used to long delays on buses in this part of the world.

The problem was at the border crossing, buses cannot cross from one country to another, so they leave you at the border, you cross by foot and then ask at the other end about the bus where you will continue your journey… well they did not rush to leave and they had us waiting for over 2 hours.  The minivan that took us was a LPG (liquid propane gas) so the driver had to stop 3 or 4 times to fill it up and every stop took around 20 or 30 minutes for bathroom break and eat something.

  1. Your dilema at the border crossing reminded me when crossing the border from Israel to Jordan. The same hassle!
