Nos dirigimos a
la Bahía de Halong, declarado por la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Vamos
a hacer un tour de 2 noches y 3 días. La primera noche será en el barco y la segunda noche en la
Isla Cat Ba.
El paseo empezó
con 4 horas de bus desde Hanoi hasta la marina. Nos subimos al barco “Moon Light” a la 1:00 pm y nos fuimos para
la bahía de Halong. En pocos minutos
estábamos rodeados por uno de los paisajes más hermosos. Karsts de diferentes tamaños y formas cubiertos
de vegetación nativa y aguas cristalinas completan el pintoresco paisaje.
Nos detuvimos en
Surprise Cave, la cueva más grande en esta zona. Pasamos alrededor de una hora caminando dentro de la cueva y
tomando fotos. La siguiente parada
fue la Montaña Ti Top, donde subimos varias escaleras para llegar a la cima.
Hacía mucho calor así que llegamos bañados en sudor y con muchas sed, pero la vista
es indescriptible y vale la pena cada gota de sudor! No importa cuánto trate de describirlo, estoy seguro de que
estaré corto de palabras; así que miren las fotos!
En la noche
anclaron el barco en una bahía tranquila y aunque había muchos barcos alrededor,
no se sentía muy lleno. Comimos
rico y nos tomamos unas cervezas para concluir nuestro primer día en la Bahía
de Halong.
El 23 de julio
visitamos un cultivo de perlas; aquí aprendimos el proceso para cultivarlas. Luego nos fuimos a la Laguna Hang Luon; allí
hicimos kayaking y disfrutamos de un paisaje impresionante. Nos pasaron a un barco más pequeño que
nos llevó a la Isla Cat Ba. Al
parecer, las regulaciones entre las provincias no permiten que los barcos
registrados en una provincia entren a la otra, por lo que nos transfirieron a
un barco diferente. En el camino paramos
en la playa de la Isla Monkey para nadar y relajarnos un poco.
Llegamos a la
isla Cat Ba a las 2:45 pm, nos registramos en el hotel y alquilamos un par de motos
para ir alrededor de la isla. Visitamos
la cueva Trung Trang y luego nos fuimos a la parte norte de la isla. El viaje en moto estuvo excelente y el
paisaje hermoso.
Por la noche nos
fuimos a dar un paseo por el puerto y tuvimos la oportunidad de ver todos los
restaurante iluminados con un montón de luces!
El 24 de julio
fue el último día de nuestro crucero en la Bahía de Halong. Nos despertamos temprano, desayunamos y
nos llevaron al bote pequeño, ahí estuvimos un par de horas y después nos
pasamos nuevamente al barco grande, donde almorzamos y regresamos al puerto a
las 12:00 pm. Volvimos a Hanoi y tomamos un bus con camas para Hue.
Fue una gran
experiencia y uno de los paisajes de Vietnam que es imposible olvidar.

We are heading
to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage area. We are taking a 2 nights, 3 days tour around the area. The first night will be onboard the
boat and the second night will be in Cat Ba Island.
The trips starts
with a four hour drive from Hanoi to the marina. We embarqued on Moon Light Classic Cruise at 1:00pm and
headed to Halong Bay. In just a
few minutes we were surrounded by one of the most beautiful scenery we had
seen. Karsts of different sizes
and shapes covered in native vegetation surrounded our boat and several others
and crystal clear waters completed the magic picturesque landscape.
We stopped at
Surprise Cave, the biggest cave in this area. We spent around one hour walking inside the cave and taking
pictures. The next stop was Ti Top
Mountain, where we climbed several hundreds of steps to reach the top. It was hot so we got to the top very
sweaty and thirsty, but the view was to die for! It does not matter how much I tried to describe it, I am
sure I will be short of words; so look at the pictures!
The boat
anchored in a quiet bay and although there were many boats around it did not
feel crowded, it was very nice and relaxing. We had a nice meal and a few drinks to complete our first
day in Halong Bay.
On July 23rd we
visited a pearl farm; here we learned the process of pearl farming. We then headed to Hang Luon Lagoon for
a little bit of kayaking where the scenery was again breathtaking. We were transferred to a smaller boat
that will take us to Cat Ba Island.
Apparently the regulations between provinces do not allow boats
registered in one province to enter another one, so for this reason they
transferred us to a different boat to get us to Cat Ba Island. On the way we stopped at Monkey Island’s beach for a
bit of free and relaxing time.
We reached Cat
Ba Island at 2:45pm, checked in at the hotel we are staying and rented a couple
of motorcycles to go around the island.
We visited Trung Trang Cave and then headed to the north part of the
island. The drive was great and
the landscape beautiful.
In the evening
we went for a walk around the harbour and got a chance to appreciate the light
display this town has to offer… lots of lights!
July 24th
was the last day of our Halong Bay cruise. We woke up early in the morning, had breakfast and got
picked up by the tour operator. We
boarded the small boat in which we cruised until we met the large boat. We had lunch and were dropped off at
the marina at 12:00pm. We returned
to Hanoi where we will be taking the sleeper bus to Hue.
It was a great
experience and one of those it will be impossible to forget.
