Dia 240 / Day 240 - February 27/2013

In the morning we arrived in Hospet, a town close to Hampi.  We took a Tuk Tuk from Hospet to Hampi and then a boat to cross the river to Virupapura Gaddi, but to simplify we are calling it Hampi, it is just the other side of the river.

We asked other tourists for accommodation and they told us that several illegal guesthouses had been demolished by the government two days ago, so accommodation was scarce.  We found a place to share with Feliks.

In the afternoon we crossed the river to Hampi and walked around town.  This is a very strange town, only 3,000 people live here and there are areas that are completely vacant or destroyed.  We spent some time by the river looking at the locals shower and do their laundry.

In the evening we went to see the sunset.  There were three kids selling tea, they come every day with a small thermos to sell tea to the tourists and locals that come every day to watch the sunset.
