Our backpacking trip: Dia 321 / Day 321

Hoy nos fuimos a caminar hasta “Long Beach”, una playa al otro lado de la isla. La caminada supuestamente se demora 45 minutos, pero como nos perdimos nos demoramos mucho mas. El camino tambien es bastante dificil, en unas partes hay cuerdas para que la gente pueda bajar.

Llegamos a una playa espectacular, casi desolada y muy larga, la mas larga de toda la isla. La playa es de arena blanca y mar cristalino. Desafortunadamente hay unos animales que se llaman “sand flies”, son una especie de mosquito muy pequeño que pica varias veces seguidas. Estuvimos en el mar y no hubo problema, pero cuando salimos del mar y queriamos estar en la playa, no hubo como… los “sand flies” nos estaban devorando! Nos vestimos y emprendimos el regreso.

En la noche estuvimos comiendo BBQ de comida de mar y tomando cerveza.

Today we are walking to Long Beach, a beach at the other side of the island. The walk is supposed to take 45 minutes, but we got lost so it took us longer. The trai is difficult and challenging at times, in some places they have installed ropes so people can manage to climb down.

We arrived to a beautiful and long beach, the longest of the island. With white sand and clear water this place is paradise. Unfortunately because there is only one resort here, there are “sand flies”, a very small mosquito that bites several times. When we were in the water it was not a problem, however while on the beach it was impossible… they were going to eat us alive! We got our clothes and went back.

In the evening we went for seafood BBQ and had a few beers.
