Hoy fuimos

Today we
went for a Thai food cooking course.
The instructor, Embee, took us to the local market where we learned a bit
about the ingredients required for this type of food.
We left the
market and after 40 minutes by car we arrived at a farm where they have
plantations of almost all the plants and vegetables required to cook Thai
food. We went around the
plantations and learned about the herbs they put in Thai food.
We then
started cooking, each of us selected the dishes to cook according to
preference. All the dishes tasted
very good and by the end of the day we were very full, we did not stop eating
all day… we even took food tack with us. Embee is quite the character; she made us laugh all
day.
In the
afternoon we went back to Chiang Mai.
We went with Nicole, a Dutch woman we met in the cooking course, to find
another place to stay. The owner
of the guest house we are staying told us that it was full and we could not
stay any longer… this is not true, we could see that at least half of the rooms
are empty; however we have not bought any tours from him and he is upset with
that so he asked us to leave. We
later learned through other people that this behaviour is well documented in
Tripadvisor and other review websites.
Fortunately
it is not high season and we found a decent place to stay but it does not have
a swimming pool like the other one.
