Our backpacking trip: Abril 12 / April 12

El 12 de Abril nos levantamos temprano par aver el amanecer en el Templo Borobudur, desafortunadamente la madre naturaleza tenia otros planes. Estuvo muy nublado y no pudimos ver el sol hasta bastante tarde en el dia. Estuvo bien que no hubo sol, caminamos por todo el parque donde esta el templo; pero incluso asi nublado la humedad nos dio bastante duro y sudamos bastante.

Borobudur fue construido en el siglo noveno y es el templo budista mas grande del mundo. Tiene 72 statuas de Buda cada una dentro de su propia estupa alrededor del domo principal. Aca hay mas informacion https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borobudur

Estuvimos bastante tiempo mirando cada detalle y tomando fotos. Despues fuimos a la montaña donde se ve el templo desde arriba, pero la vegetacion es muy densa y no se ve sino el domo principal y uno que otro detalle.

En la tarde cogimos el bus de regreso a Yogya para pasar la noche ahi y tomar el bus hacia Bromo, nuestro proximo destino. El hotel en Yogya no tiene lavamanos, no sabemos que fobia tienen acá con los lavamanos porque es el segundo o tercer hotel sin lavamanos en el baño.

We walked up very early in the morning on April 12 to see the sunrise by the Borobudur Temple, unfortunately mother nature had different plans. It was very foggy and we could not see the sun until very late in the day. It was good to walk around without the sun out but still the high humidity is good enough to make you sweat a lot.

Borobudur was built in the 9^th century and it is the largest Buddhist Temple in the world. It has 72 Buddha statues each inside its own stupa surrounding the main dome. More can be read at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borobudur

We spent a considerable amount of time looking around and taking pictures. We then went to the hill to see it from above but the vegetation is so dense that it is not worth the long hike just to see the main stupa.

In the afternoon we headed back to Yogya for a night to catch a bus to Bromo, our next destination. The hotel does not have a sink in the bathroom, we cannot understand why this is a common practice in this part of the world, this is the second or third hotel without a sink.
