Enero 18 - 19 / January 18 - 19

In the morning of January 18 we went to the local market, which was set up on the grounds of the campground we were staying at.  The local farmers were selling all the produce, as well as meat, cheese, drinks, etc.  It was interesting seeing everything they produce in the area.  The most exciting thing was the sugar cane juice they had… it was exactly the same as the one we had years ago back home.  We bough a litre to take with us and a glass to have immediately.

We then went for a drive around some towns in the area, which the lady at the information centre recommended… nothing exciting to report!  We did have a nice view of Mount Warning again.

We are now heading towards the Gold Coast, more specifically Surfers Paradise.  We stopped at a place called Elephant Rock where we had a beautiful view of the beach and Surfers Paradise buildings.

We then stopped for BBQ lunch at Tallebudgera Beach… it was packed!

We arrived at Surfers Paradise in the afternoon and went for a walk around town and the beach.  In the evening we went to the local market along the beach.  Everybody in town was there, it was crazy…

On January 19 we went for another walk around town and spent some time at the beach.

We left in the afternoon for our next destination… Brisbane.  We found a resort like campground.  This place has everything and a bit more, the pool is amazing, BBQ, nice showers, etc.  We feel spoiled with such luxury!

  1. Wow! I didn't think Brisbane was this big! And the mention to sugar cane juice... brought me back good old times from my childhood! :)
