Our backpacking trip: Dia 111 / Day 111

Hoy hicimos una caminada desde Manarola hasta Vernazza. La idea era tomar un bus desde Manarola hasta Volasta para ahorrarnos toda la subida, pero llegamos 5 minutos tarde a la parada del bus y el proximo habia que esperarlo 1 hora; la caminada era solo de 50 minutos, todos subiendo, pero decidimos caminar! Muchas escalas pero por unos paisajes muy bonitos, entre cultivos de olivos y uvas. Llegamos a Volastra bañados en sudor, la temperatura estaba a 28C, mas la humedad y el ejercicio. Depues seguimos a Corniglia, entre mas cultivos de uvas y olivas y con una vista al mar y otros de los pueblos de la Cinque Terre.

En Corniglia cogimos el camino #2 a Vernazza, supuestamente estaba cerrado por riesgos de derrumbe pero todo el mundo estaba caminando por ahi, entonces nosotros tambien los hicimos. Este camino fueron 4Km, tambien subiendo y bajando, pero con una vista espectacular.

En total caminamos 8.5Km, pero lo disfrutamos al maximo, vamos a ver como nos levantamos mañana. Por la noche fuimos a comer a la cabaña de Beatriz y Bertrand, nos tomamos unos traguitos y comimos delicioso.

We went for a hike between Manarola and Vernazza. The plan was to take a bus from Manarola to Volastra to avoid some of the extreme climbing but we missed the bus by 5 minutes and we had to wait 1 hour to get the next one, the hike was only 50 minutes so we decided start hiking. Up the hill we went, through lots of steps but through a very nice path full of plantations of olives, grapes, etc. We got to Volastra completely sweating, the weather was around 28C plus humidity and the exercise. We continued to Corniglia through more plantations and with a nice view of the ocean and the Cinque Terre.

In Corniglia we took path #2 to Vernazza, which was supposed to be closed due to a landslide but everybody was doing it so we follow through. This section is 4Km long up and down hills, with steps and very demanding terrain in some areas. The views are very spectacular.

In total we hiked for 8.5Km but enjoyed it a lot. Let’s see how sore we wake up tomorrow! In the evening we went for dinner at Beatriz and Bertrand’s bungalow, had a few drinks and a wonderfull meal.
