llevara a Deiva Marina. Despues
estrellas!

We planned to take the boat from Sestri Levante to Porto Venere,
so we woke up early in the morning and took the camping bus to the train
station. We found out that
TrenItalia was on strike for the day and there were no trains running on either
direction. We decided to hitchhike
to Sestri Levante… after a couple of minutes we were picked up by a very nice
Italian man who took us there.
When we arrived we found out that the boat trip had been cancelled due
to bad weather at sea… what a disappointment!, this was the last boat trip of
the season. So now what?... there
is no boat trip, there are no trains… well, the only option is to hitchhike
back. We walked to a strategic
place outside Sestri Levante and started hitchhiking, after a bit longer than
the first time, we got picked up by a very talkative and nice Italian lady, not
sure if she understood that we did not speak Italian… we understood a few words
and answer “SI” every time we thought she was asking a question. This was a very funny ride, but she
went the extra mile, she only took us to Moneglia, a small town a few
kilometers from Deiva Marina, but she started asking people if they were going
there, she asked a bus driver and then she started looking for the bus
schedule. Finally we told her that
we were going to stay in Moneglia a few hours to have lunch and then continue
to Deiva Marina.
We walked around Moneglia and then went to the beach and
Marcela went for a swim.
We decided to hike back to Deiva Marina; there is a very
nice trail that goes up in the mountain.
It was a 5.2Km hike up and down hill but with amazing views of both
Moneglia and Deiva Marina towns.
At the campground we asked if we could borrow a table and
two chairs for our site… the experience has improved 100%, now it is a 5 star
camping!
